Evinrude VRO
Have90/s 40HP Evinrude, VRO stopped working, Replaced fuel pump with standard fuel pump. now mixing oil with fuel 50% mix. Can i just disconnect the wire from the oil tank to the engine when i remove the oil tank? ![confused [violin.gif]](./images/smilies/violin.gif)

The black n tan wires to the oil tank can be completely removed. They connected to the old VRO fuel/oil pump you removed, so no trace of them will be left now.
Your overheat switch in the cylinder head is now an orphan unless you jump the wire from the temp switch into the wire harness. You will no longer get an overheat alarm unless you do this. When wire is connected and "Key On/Engine Not Running" you can short the switch to ground and should hear the alarm buzzing for overheat. Most mechanics cut the oil supply hose where it enters the lower cowling leaving just enough to jam a bolt into the cut end with a ziptie or hose clamp.
