I got this transom plate off ebay but found it really doesn’t fit the kg7/kh7/kf7, etc like it was designed for. I know a few of you guys have shown these over the years and so I’m wondering if you’ve found whether or not they actually fit?
The recesses for the transom pads are milled with very little room for tolerance. The pads fit in there almost perfectly with very little play, but the center lines of them don’t line up exactly so only one pad fits in place while the other side does not.
Curious about what you guys have experienced with these. I’m almost positive they’re not made by Mercury since I’ve never seen them in any brochure, etc.
As always, thanks for any and all input!
Scott

they are aftermarket for sure.
they most likely fit the cast clamps rather than the forged.

Nope. I tried it on 4 models with the cast saddle and it doesn’t fit any of them as it should. Probably why there aren’t many of them around. After buyers realized they didn’t fit right, they probably tossed them.

Scott, looks like you may have a rare item even though the fit is not right.
Anyway it sure looks nice

Good thought Toby. That’s a motor I do not have.
