I think maybe I should check the position of the gears under the stator ....

After almost exactly a years worth of fits and starts and boat repair, my old friend Swifty's Mark 25E runs again.  The first day of testing it was sort of a dog, but after a high speed adjustment and tightening up the crankcase nuts, off she went!  I had gas and oil leaking down the leg, which given the vintage, didn't seem too alarming to me.  I decided to have a look and found that the case nuts weren't tight!  (Note to self: Check everything after the initial run)

I'm grateful for all of the help that was given to me here on JOM.   [drinkingcheers.gif]

Time for the next project!

The later Phelon coils had an updated mag plate design and the coils had much tougher coatings that kept them well intact from splitting but the coils were also firmly fastened onto the laminates such that removing them to replace was a challenge.

After breaking the coating off, I cut the through the copper wire with a hack saw, works really good.
